Denise is a 1984 graduate of the Mayo Clinic. Her undergraduate course-work was completed at Doane College where she competed in collegiate volleyball and track. Denise’s childhood was spent growing up and working on her family’s farm near Holdrege, Nebraska. She has lived and worked in Lincoln since her graduation from Physical Therapy school.
Denise’s clinical experience includes in-patient P.T., geriatrics, pediatric care for Lincoln Public Schools, and out-patient orthopedics from 1984 until 1991. Exstrom Physical Therapy was founded in 1991 by Denise. Her clinical expertise is shoulder rehabilitation for all ages and activity levels. Denise’s clinical areas of focus also include all types of orthopedic conditions, women’s health, and geriatric care at the Legacy retirement facilities in Lincoln.
Denise’s over 22 years of clinical experience has not only honed her clinical skills but has given her insight to the importance of health promotion with exercise. The development of Exstrom Wellness Program has allowed past patients and new arrivals the opportunity to develop life changing exercise habits. Denise also donates her time to educate participants of the Nebraska downhill ski club, Lincoln Marathon Clinic, and soccer/volleyball clinics on principals of injury prevention.
Interests outside of work include; traveling, golfing, scuba diving and attending local sporting events with her husband Doug. Denise enjoys cooking and entertaining friends and family at her home as well as participating with social events within the community. Denise participates with many local high-schools, colleges, and professional schools allowing students opportunity to learn about Physical Therapy as a profession.
Jami graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in May 2012 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2009 with a degree in Nutrition, Exercise and Health Science. She has been working at Exstrom Physical Therapy since July 2012.
Jami focuses on patient education along with manual techniques and individualized exercise programs to help patients achieve their goals and return to their prior level of function. She is certified in trigger point Dry Needling through Myopain Seminars. Jami incorporates dry needling with other therapies including manual therapy, soft tissue mobilization, exercise and stretching in order to achieve optimal results. She is also certified in STOTT PILATES® on the reformer and integrates the principals of Pilates into her treatment approach for optimal patient care with postural training and core stability.
She is happily married to Kevin and when she is not in the clinic she enjoys spending time with her golden retriever, Buddy, her family and friends, traveling, going out to dinner and exercising.

Physical Therapy Assistant
Chrissy began working at Exstrom PT the spring of 2017, after passing her national PTA board exam. She graduated with her Associate of Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant from Southeast Community College in March of 2017. After an 11 year career in insurance, she returned to school to study physical therapy, an area she has always had a passion for. She enjoys learning about the way the body functions and how we can work along with it to recover from injury and to decrease pain. Chrissy is excited about the opportunity to help patients achieve their goals with rehabilitation while working closely along side our team of therapists. She also works part time at a local hospital helping provide acute care for post surgical patients.
Chrissy is a wife and mother of two children and three fur babies. She loves spending time with friends and family. She also likes watching & playing almost any sport, running and training for the occasional obstacle course race.
