Women’s Health / Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy

Pelvic floor physical therapy or rehabilitation is a non-surgical and non-pharmacolgical approach to rehabilitation of dysfunctions in the pelvis that contribute to bladder, bowel, sexual health and pain complaints. Treatment may include behavioral strategies, manual therapies, modalities, therapeutic exercise, education and functional re-training.

Our Women’s Health/Pelvic Floor physical therapist can provide women of all ages with the necessary treatment intervention to reduce or eliminate many life-inhibiting or painful conditions she may experience in her life. The goal is to minimize or even relieve the symptoms associated with these conditions. Conditions that can be treated with pelvic floor physical therapy include but are not limited to:

  • Pregnancy-Related Pain and Post-Partum Issues
  • Urinary Incontinence/Leakage
  • Frequent Urination
  • Pelvic Pain
  • Difficulty tolerating a pelvic exam
  • Dyspareunia (painful sexual intercourse)
